  • 1 pound collard greens – trimmed

  • 2 smoked turkey leg

  • 3 (32 ounce) containers chicken broth

  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 4 cloves garlic – finely chopped

  • 2 tablespoons white sugar

  • 2 sweet onions – finely chopped

  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt

  • 3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper


  • Mix onions, smoked turkey leg, and garlic in a stockpot, then add chicken broth. Cook combination over medium warmth till meat is falling off the bone, about 120 min.
  • Stir collard greens, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper into the broth combination. Cook till greens have reached desired tenderness, about extra 120 min.
  • When completed, taste to your choice. In my opinion, these greens do not want a thing in case your broth could be very seasoned. I often add in just a few dashes of black pepper and some drops of hot sauce!
