I never get uninterested in a superb tuna salad recipe, and of the lots of of variations I’ve made, this is the version. Served on a mattress of greens or slathered between slices of your favorite bread, this is the Classic Tuna Salad Sandwich Recipe that works completely for tuna melts, too.

1 (5 or 6-ounce) can tuna fish – drained
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1/3 cup cottage cheese
1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
1/2 cup chopped celery stalk
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon capers
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Optional Servings: Lettuce and sliced tomatoes
2 slices bread – lightly toasted
- In a medium bowl, combine all of the ingredients till mixed.
- Serve tuna salad on toast, both open faced, or in a regular sandwich with lettuce and tomatoes, or or chill till serving. For a low carb choice, serve on sliced lettuce.
